stephen colbert showed bush the disdain that the world, at the very least liberals, had for him when he roasted his ass. i think that is going to be the high point of colberts career; telling “the man” what an ass he is.

…It would be a fair point – except that, clearly, the fellow wasn’t much better off tossing a shoe at Bush. They beat him until his bones broke and locked him away as a political prisoner.
Oppression is oppression, whether it’s a democratically elected western president / vice president or a middle eastern dictator. There’s no question that Saddam himself was a terror; that is not somehow an excuse for Bush to deal out his own brand of monstrosity in the region.
