Can you do this? Plus, right after bt and ait, he went straight to iraq with out having a unit? He supposed to be up in may 08 but may be extended till aug 08. Can he request to go active army after 6mths and request a duty station stateside once he finishes iraq? If he has no unit, once he finishes iraq, where would he go? His mos is 09L.

He can re-enlist for extended active duty. This would give him regular army status. Is this so important ? He is doing everything that regular army does, and the only way people usually know your duty status, is by looking in your personnel file.

Don’t make any difference. Request to go active and submit to S1 for a reclassifaction of MOS and S3 will set him up for training in another MOS. Then depending on the MOS, S2 will have to get his security right, and S4 will have to reissue his gear, upon finall orders from S1.

Basically, type a letter to the commander he is assigned to now, and request it. I did it. He might want to try to get a cook, medic, or mechanic MOS. Or I was S2/S3 that ok too.
