The military recruiters today are having an easy time of it. The unemployment rate is very high in the US. My hope is that we could bring the “draft” back. Then the politicians wouldn’t be so eager to pursue endless war mode.
Can you picture US military escaping Iraq from the roof top of embassy building just like Vietnam?
That probably won’t happen in the same fashion because Iraq doesn’t have well organized military like the Vietcong had.
My guess is it will be even worse. It won’t have decisive moment but will be end in endless debate in the government when to abandon the occupation.
The end result will be far more distrust from the people to the government than when the Vietnam war ended.
