Very interesting insight on how private security contractors work in Iraq. These are not mercenaries, as mercenaries are hired warriors. Private security contractors conduct defensive operations only. … iraq terrorist vip warriors ambush ied private army Security body gaurd blackwater contractor USA
So 2 years after this video aired, how is it now?
Safer?…. more dangerous?
It isn’t an M14 though. The magazines are definitely AK-pattern, and you can clearly see the rifle is an AK variant at 3:44.
@skippy0033 tru that, i watched the one private security videos from afghan before this one.
Beards are for Afghanistan most Iraqis dont really grow beards
They should grow beards.
@viva0las0vegas
He shows his M21, it’s a Serbian AK-type rifle from Zastava
They call it an m-21, and the mags look bigger than an ak-type round. You can do a lot to an m-14 to make it more useable
@viva0las0vegas
Did you watch the video?

it is bad ass that they have their own gunsmith
you will notice that the low profile security guy they talked to was using an m-21. that’s an m-14 kids.
Ammo availability, and the high profile PSD guys often carry more than a dozen mags, and they will shoot all of them if they are ambushed, AKs will run reliably shooting that many rounds within a short time, ARs quite often will not. Also, an AR chamber can get hot enough from that to get a cook off.
There is a video game about this its called army of two
My dad does this stuff, he was a former cop.
this guys are former soliders as SAS , US Rangers , navy seals , polish GROM . So they know what to do and carry with them to mission !!
death to radical muslim assholes..Bosnia 1992:)
My AK cost $100 an M4 (you don’t want full size rifles, you can’t wield them well in vehicles, etc…) Cost $3,000 when I was there. We bought our own weapons, they are not issued. Other than the obvious that was mentioned in other post the folks with M4’s had a hard time getting 556 ammo as it is not being sold to the public since US and NATO forces use it. 762 comes easy to non-_4 military. We used to trade arms woth the US Spec Ops guys and the biggest trade was our 762 for their 556.
The original AK did – since the 70s it (or, strictly speaking, the AK-74) has used a 5.-mm round, similar to the 5.56 NATO
they use ak-47s cause they are powerful and they’re reliable if dust or dirt gets into the gun its still able to work well
AK-47 and its other variants use a bigger round (7.62) than than the 5.56 that the AR-15 versions use.
its because the insurgents also use the ak, they can always pick up more ammo if they are in need.
and its also about personal taste of the individual person, and if the contract firm can deliver the weapons you want, as you know modern weapons and equipment isn’t exactly cheap
why do most of the contractors use AK-47 or some variants instead of the AR-15 which is a better rifle?
they should make a videogame or movie about this.
Hell yeah
Exactly. We already use private contractors to supply and even repair some of our essential combat systems, particularly in the Airforce and Navy. Now we have private contractors doing the work the army doesn’t have the time for in Iraq, when does it stop? This is extremely unsettling.
DEATH TO HATE
i think your just bias against the war and probably a muslim that hates americans
