Thru the whole thing they make no mention of Iraq, but you know it is … adding the ‘iraq’ comment on the end , was overkill, ruins the joke.. the point they are trying to make. So im glad they cut it, funnier and more hard hitting without it, because it doesnt just have to be about iraq, there are many many hell holes with wars and such on earth at the moment, Not many quiet as blantlently fucked up as iraq but still… And by mentioning a place name, automaticly sides them to a point of view.

It was one line! They weren’t censoring the main message which was crystal clear clear, the Iraq war was stupid! I think the last line would have detracted from the Simpsons satirical style which is to emulate the world they see around them in order to point out the flaws in society.

  8. meteoramarc says:

@MortalKombat01A nothing, and I repeat, NOTHING subliminal about that message. The only thing even remotely subliminal may be the story of the censorship that accompanied it. So again, let me ask you: do YOU understand what “subliminal” means now? Do you realize how much of a stuckup douchefuck you just made yourself look like? Having Jesus in your YouTube picture doesn’t always make you the good guy.

@MortalKombat01A Where exactly does a prick like you get off with saying it’s something I “may understand?” Let me quote calcrize word-for-word here: “That word, ’subliminal’. I do not think it means what you think it means. That was liminal messaging. It was? blatant. Nothing subliminal about it.” So let me ask you: what is it that YOU don’t understand? A subliminal message is far more subtle than blatantly speaking whatever sentence they’re trying to say and then having it censored. There is

  11. sobman says:

Satire is suppose to be subtle. It’s not really funny when they flat out tell you what’s going on.

  12. yeahwafflesgo says:

i don’t think you know what ’subliminal’ means

  13. MortalKombat01A says:

You didn’t get it? Here is something you may understand: The pre-aired version contained “this sure is a lot like iraq will be.” While the version they aired, it did not have that phrase. Censorship would be more exact than subliminal message.

  14. meteoramarc says:

    what exactly was “subliminal” here?

    Hmmmm………

  20. EAEful says:

Thank you, I do not know why this war is to kill innocent people and media also support this war in Iraq indirectly

  21. xzogoclock says:

    fk u guys lol

  22. millinniummany3k says:

Nothing subliminal about it. This is one great big giant ‘fuck you cunt’ at Bush and the war on Iraq.

My reasoning for the last line being cut, the point was well and clearly made. It would be overkill to make the comment about Iraq. Think back to some of the jingoism that followed September 11 (the WWF Smackdown on September 13th and JAG for example) for an idea on how the pro war pro bombing terrorist countries into parking lots might be pushed past making a point and beat a dead horse.

sllab kcus uoy…. spell it backwords faggot

  25. pintend says:

They actually aired this version of the episode when it was first aired in europe. After that, the one line was censored.
